Our first blog of 2015 (and ever!)

So, we figured it would be a good idea to use our site to keep you all up to date with what we've been up to and it seems the best way to do this is to join the world of blogging! What have we been up to so far this year I hear you ask??? Well....

We've Been Gigging!

We kicked off the year in style with an all night ceilidh at the lovely Kirkhouse Inn in Strathblane providing a full nights ceilidh to a sold out venue. We enjoyed it so much - we're going back to play for this years Hogmany! The band also enjoyed celebrating Burns Night with over 200 international students from Kaplan International - Edinburgh at the beautiful Roxy Assembly in Edinburgh, entertaining at the first annual Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band Burns Supper and providing a charity ceilidh for the excellent and very worthwhile Hosana Children's Pilgrimage Trust in late February.

We've Been Recording!

We were excited to once again head to The Depot Recording Studios in Granton, Edinburgh to record some new tracks with producer Craig Ross earlier this month - stay tuned to hear the results from this session in the coming weeks!

We've Been Competing!

Our whistler Emma and piper Jonny were competing in the adult solo piping event at the RSPBA Lothian and Borders branch championships and were pleased to win 2nd and 4th respectively!

and.....We've Been Operated On!

Not all of us..... just Ross who had an op on his ears. This meant having our dep drummer Calum step in for our HCPT charity ceilidh in Feb. However, we're glad to report that Ross is now fully recovered and back drumming with the band again!

Anyway, that's about enough for a first blog. Be sure to return to find out what we get up to in the coming weeks!
